This is a good dim bar to have a nice whiskey or dark beer. They serve Guinness here and kinda promoted quite a bit so that might be there thing its bigger than it appears if you head towards the end of the bar it expands more other than that just looks like a narrow space between the bar and small booths. Ideal for 2 people night out not large groups

I've been coming to the Ould Sod since 2002 and it has always been a great experience. The addition of a back bar area really opens the place up from its 1970s style dive bar schematic to incorporate more types of activities that bar customers expect these days. Also it hands down has the best Guinness in San Diego.

Great neighborhood Irish bar. I had a beer there while on a visit to see what had become of my old apartment in Normal Heights. Prices are reasonable and posted. Bartender in the afternoon is friendly.

The best Irish bar outside of Ireland. Only the second time in my life that I have seen Eulean pipes live. Full Irish band, I am telling you. What does that say about the atmosphere? Good drink selection, and a newly refurbished outdoor area. Have you ever seen a hand-carved, all-wood foozeball table? Well you can.

Fun bar with a nice casual atmosphere. They have karaoke on Thursday's or Friday's, I forget which. The music is actually not too loud most off the time. Also has some games out on the patio, but the patio does closer around 11pm or 12. There are some good food places nearby if you need food before or after.
